Starting Therapy

I typically speak to a person directly on the phone prior to making an appointment. During the conversation, I will probably ask a few questions so that I can get a sense of your current situation and needs. I can also answer questions and discuss payment issues.

The idea of speaking about personal and painful issues may seem strange, possibly even overwhelming, at first. For many people, it takes a great deal of courage to begin therapy. However, research indicates that sharing concerns in therapy can be a very effective way for people to reduce distress and clarify issues. Beginning a process that is focused on your own needs and goals can open the door to other areas of growth.
